Opening, closing, and winter
Pool closing and winterizing
The closing is the pool only. We set the winter water level and the chemistry, protect the equipment from a freeze, put the cover on, and leave notes and photos.
Why it matters
Water left in unprotected lines and equipment can split them in a hard freeze. A close done on purpose is what makes spring an opening, not a repair.
What the visit includes
- We set the water for winter and balance it so the pool is not closed dirty.
- We protect the equipment and the lines from a freeze.
- We put the cover on.
- A spa that shares the pool equipment is part of this one closing visit.
- A spa with its own equipment, and any water feature, are closed on their own. They are not inside this visit.
When to ask for it
Signature and Estate include one pool closing each year. Essential can add it. Close before a hard freeze. If you want to keep swimming later into the fall, say so. Leaving the pool on a summer setting is not a close.

Pool opening
A pool that sat all winter does not start clean because the weather turned warm. Opening in this order keeps a winter of debris out of the system and gives you a season that starts ready to swim.
Winter watch
A cover that fills with water, or a problem that starts in January, should be caught in winter. Waiting until spring turns a small check into a longer opening.
Opening and closing only
Some owners want to handle the weeks they swim, and still want a technician for the two jobs that set up the season and protect the pool through winter.
