Pool opening and pool closing
The pool only. Signature and Estate include one opening and one closing each year. Essential can add them. A spa on its own system, and a water feature, are separate.

Tidewater Care
We take care of the water and the equipment through your swim season so you can enjoy your pool.
Clear water. Reliable equipment. One team that shows up so you can enjoy your pool.
We serve pools across Virginia in Hampton Roads, Richmond, Albemarle, and the Northern Neck.

When it cannot wait
Call 757-703-0757 or send a request to info@tidewaterpools.com. We come look at the problems below.
If you smell gas, or you see sparking at the equipment, leave it alone and call your utility or 911. Then call us about the pool.
We take care of the water and the equipment through your swim season so you can enjoy your pool. The same standards apply on the pool already in the ground. It is not a membership. Tidewater Care is built for your swim season.
The pool only. Signature and Estate include one opening and one closing each year. Essential can add them. A spa on its own system, and a water feature, are separate.
We test chlorine or bromine, pH, alkalinity, calcium, and cyanuric acid before we change anything. The equipment is checked on every visit.
Essential is seen in the regular order. Signature is given preference, because we already know the equipment. Estate is seen first. When it is something you can handle yourself, we say so.
A yearly look at the pool surface, the tile, the coping, where the deck meets the pool, the equipment, and the safety equipment we can see. Signature includes one. Estate includes it and we follow through. Essential can add it.

Essential is skim, brush, and chemistry, without vacuuming the floor. Signature adds the floor, the chemicals that balance the water, and one opening, one closing, and one yearly inspection, from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Estate is that weekly care, seen first when something cannot wait.
Keep it Simple. Skim, brush, and chemistry.
Best when: You want the water and the equipment looked after, and you plan to vacuum the floor yourself or you can always upgrade to our Signature Care.
Talk with us about Essential →The summer level. We vacuum the floor on the week of service, from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Best when: You want the pool cleaned, including the floor, with the open, the close, and the yearly inspection included.
Talk with us about Signature →The same weekly cleaning as Signature, and these pools are seen first when something cannot wait.
Best when: You want Signature’s cleaning, first priority when something fails, and the leak look included when the water is dropping.
Talk with us about Estate →What every Care visit includes
Arrive and look over the pool, the equipment, and how we get to it.
Test the water and write the readings down before we change anything.
Inspect the equipment. Look, listen, and feel. Photograph it.
Do the surface work for your Care level, and watch the water level.
Adjust the chemistry from those readings.
Look at the equipment again if we had to open or move it.
Leave notes and photos, and secure the property before we go.
The visit order is the same on Essential, Signature, and Estate. These services stand on their own, or beside a Care level. A spa on its own system and a water feature are never folded into the pool opening.
What each service is, and why it matters →Pool opening
The pool only. Cover off, debris out, equipment started, water balanced, filter cleaned, and the equipment inspected. Included once a year on Signature and Estate. Available on Essential.
Pool closing
The pool only. Winter water level and chemistry, equipment protected from a freeze, and the cover on. Included once a year on Signature and Estate. Available on Essential.
Spa on its own system
A spa that shares the pool equipment is part of the one closing visit. A spa with its own equipment is its own opening and its own closing.
Water feature
A glance during the equipment check is not a feature cleaning, and it is not a feature open or close. Those are their own visits.
Green-to-clean recovery
Neglected or storm-green water, brought back toward ready to swim. It can take more than one visit. We say so after we see the water.
Phosphate treatment
We test when the water calls for it. Treating phosphates is its own visit, not part of ordinary balancing.
Metal treatment
We test when the water calls for it. Binding metals is its own visit. Lifting a stain beyond that is also its own visit.
Waterline detail
A closer cleaning of tile and calcium at the waterline, after we have seen it. Not part of the regular brush.
Drain, clean, and acid wash
Only when the pool actually needs it. Never a habit of the season.
Intensive filter clean
Beyond the rinse or backwash on a regular visit. We open the filter and clean what is inside it. Replacing that material is its own conversation.
Diagnostic visit
We look at what failed, say what you can handle yourself, and write the next step. You approve parts before they come off the truck.
Leak detection
We look, use dye when it answers the question, and separate the equipment from the pool. On Estate this look is included when water loss shows up. The repair is separate.
Cover system
When a cover is not working as it should, we look first. The repair is its own conversation.
Pre-sale report
A written condition report for a sale. No obligation to book a repair. Estate includes one a year if you ask. Another report is its own service.
Where Tidewater Care runs
Salt air and humidity work on equipment the way inland heat does not. Pads get watched for corrosion, covers, and salt cells — not a copied Piedmont checklist.
Chemistry and winterization follow inland nights, not coastal humidity. Clay and drainage show up on the pad as much as in the yard.
Seasonal houses and salt air. Equipment can sit unused, then get asked to run hard on a holiday weekend. We treat that as a Care fact, not a surprise.
Elevation and oak. Covers and skimmers fill differently than a Virginia Beach lot. Heat pumps and freeze protection get a longer shoulder.
Knowledge Base
Chemistry, seasons, and equipment, written the way we explain it at the pool.

How Care works
A practical line between homeowner maintenance and jobs that need a technician.

Water chemistry
You need a short list of chemistry readings, including calcium hardness, to keep the water clear.

Swim season
A cover thrown on in November is not the same thing as closing the pool. Equipment and water level will all be affected by a freeze that still arrives in Virginia every year.
