How Care works
When to Call for Service vs. What You Can Handle
A practical line between homeowner maintenance and jobs that need a technician.
Good ownership is a mix of simple habits and knowing when to pick up the phone. Tidewater Care will say so when it is DIY.
Handle yourself
- Testing and basic chemical adjustments
- Emptying baskets
- Skimming and brushing
- Backwashing or cleaning filters per the manual
- Noticing and reporting changes early
Call a technician
- Persistent cloudy water after balanced chemistry and a clean filter
- Equipment noise, leaks, or error codes you cannot clear
- Electrical issues or breaker trips on pool circuits
- Heater problems
- Suspected leaks — unexplained water loss
- Structural cracks or major tile failure
- Anything involving gas lines
Why early calls are cheaper
A weak pump seal or a small leak becomes a bigger repair when ignored. Chemistry that drifts for a month is harder to recover than chemistry caught on Tuesday.
How a Care stop is different
Route technicians leave notes you can see. Photos and readings live with the visit. You are not starting from zero every time someone new walks the pad.
When in doubt, inquire about service with what you are seeing and your latest test numbers. We will tell you if it is a DIY fix or a dispatch.
